What begins as a hobby...

One of my fondest memories as a child was helping... and playing, in our kitchen. My mom would make Greek desserts and cookies and would always ask me to help. I remember rolling out the koulourakia dough and shaping it into a rope design or swirly "s" shapes. Not too long ago, I too had my daughters help me bake some of our favorite desserts. From cookies, to cakes, to bougatsas and baklavas. Baking our cherished family recipes is something I hope my daughters continue doing with their children some day. 

From Hobby to Passion

I learned many things during the pandemic. I learned that its important to have a pantry FULL of items, not just pasta and canned goods but toilet paper too! I also learned that I really enjoy experimenting with recipes. My first experiment revolved around crumb cake. Being a Jersey (aaaayy, oooh!) native, I was practically raised on crumb cake! The BEST crumb cakes I know have the MOST delicious, mountainous layer of CRUMB!!! CRUMB, after CRUMB after CRUMB! So, I began experimenting by adding crumb toppings to practically everything I baked. The result led me to my passion for everything crumb!
